DESIGN

Volker Roland has earned a reputation for its sophisticated design solutions and innovative use of technology.
“My story is one of hard work, determination and a strong desire to create the best designs and user experiences possible.”
Experience comes with time, and I have a decade of experience under my belt in designing web sites and graphic art work for clients across the globe.
Volker has focused on developing a critical understanding of the complex and interdependent relationships between technology and culture. Volker’s engagement with new media art has been motivated  by a fascination with new media technologies themselves and by a recognition that, in the hands of artists, these technologies can open up unexpected forms of cultural participation, and aesthetic experience
Internet art (often referred to as net art) is a form of digital artwork distributed via the Internet. This form of art has circumvented the traditional dominance of the gallery and museum system, delivering aesthetic experiences via the Internet. In many cases, the viewer is drawn into some kind of interaction with the work of art. Artists working in this manner are sometimes referred to as net artists.
New Media concerns are often derived from the telecommunications, mass media and digital modes of delivery the artworks involve, with practices ranging from conceptual to virtual art, performance to installation.
